Cycling Rhodes North & Middle + Symi
Already in ancient times Rhodes was a famous island in the Mediterranean. Discover the historical en natural beauty of the island of the Cruisaders. enjoy the hospitality of the Greeks, the blue see en the green countryside. CYCLING ON THE BIGGEST ISLAND OF THE DODEKANESE Tourprogramm (8-days, level: easy/middle): Day 1 Arrival on Rhodes in Hotel Vouras in Kalavarda. Day 2 Stage to Rhodos Town (40 km) through the butterflyvalley of Petaloudes. Day 3 A walk in the fascinating ancient city of Rhodes Day 3 or a boattrip to and 20 km cycling on the island of Symi Day 4 Allong the eastcoast to Archangellos, Day 4 a lively greek village, the largest on the island(41 km). Day 5 A daytrip to the famous bays of Lindos, a beautiful town with white houses Day 5 and an ancient temple within a medeaval castle (46 km). Day 6 Stage through the hills to the wineyards of Embonas (43 km). Day 7 Back to Kalavarda via the nice village of Kritinia and its castle, the fishingport Day 5 of Kamiros Skala and the ancient town of Kamiros (33 km). Day 8 Back home or some extra nights. "This trip was well organised and we were looked after by very friendly staff. The hotels, except the saint michel in rhodes old town, where basic, but very clean and an adequate breakfast. The saint michel is a lovely old hotel with an exceptional breakfast. The cycle route was well explained with interesting things pointed out to see along the way".
